Miss Philippines 3rd Runner Up in Miss Grand International (PHOTOS and Q&A)

Congratulations to Annalie Forbes for winning 3rd Runner Up in Miss Grand International 2013. A 20 years old Annalie who hails from Malolos , Bulacan is Binibining Pilipinas 2012 1st Runner Up. Miss Grand International was held at Bangkok, Thailand.

Annalie’s final question was about how to prevent war and global conflicts.

“I will use my position to promote the advocacy of Miss Grand International using various instruments such as social media, the gadget itself, and if necessary, our personal presence to spread the wonderful message of peace and I would like to thank all the donator(s) of our country from the last typhoon Yolanda,”

On the aftermath of supertyphoon Haiyan

In the aftermath of supertyphoon Haiyan (Yolanda) there are many reasons to grieve. Over the past few days, however, the Filipino people have seen many reasons to be grateful as well. Filipinos at home and abroad have, once more, come together to render aid and assistance to hard-hit areas.

The thought that the community of nations stands in solidarity with our nation has also greatly eased our burdens. On behalf of the Filipino people, I thank the governments and peoples of so many nations—28 as of last count—as well as the donor organizations, who have pledged or already provided assistance, whether technical, financial, or in kind, for the relief and rebuilding efforts that we are undertaking in Leyte, Samar, and other provinces devastated by Haiyan.

I also reiterate my gratitude to every Filipino who has extended help to his countrymen in their time of need. The companies who have offered their services for free or at a great discount, the groups and institutions who have mobilized their members for relief drives, individuals who have volunteered time, knowledge, and resources: You have my deepest thanks.

The well of strength and compassion that characterizes us as a nation has time and again proven to be bottomless. Solidarity born of faith and prayer, combined with a steadfast resolve, is showing the world that nothing can make the Filipino spirit yield. The Almighty has granted us the resilience to withstand such tragedies, secure in our belief that God will continue to guide us as we provide care for our countrymen, rebuild our nation, and prepare for the future.

This is a malicious and definitely not a credible “report” against the Iglesia Ni Cristo because it is not based on facts but on a “text message.” See for yourself. The article even posted the image of the “text message.”

Is a “text message” a credible and reliable basis?I don't know, but was communications on that day in that region slammed by Super Typhoon Yolanda were all down?


WHAT TRULY HAPPENED DURING THE STORM SURGE?

During the storm surge, the Iglesia N Cristo compound in Tacloban City (the same house of worship you see in the picture) sheltered many families, members and non-members alike. The house of worship and the INC compound served as sanctuary for the victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda. After the storm, many went back to their houses, but many also remained inside the INC compound for they have no more houses to go back to. The following are some of the Tacloban district survivors that are currently inside the INC compound:

This is true not only in Tacloban but in many places that Super Typhoon Yolanda slammed. The Iglesia Ni Cristo immediately conducted relief operations in many areas after the storm. As of today, the INC is continuously conducting Medical Missions in different places.

Social Networking Site na FACEBOOK may PHILIPPINE VERSION na rin!

What??!! Nabigla ako nang makita ko ang isang link na animo'y umagaw ng aking pansin sa facebook. Isang link na nagpapakilala na ito raw ang kauna-unahang VERSION ng Social Networking Site na Facebook dito sa Philippines. When I open/click the link, ang BROWN VERSION ng FACEBOOK ang sumambulat sakin sa browser. Isang web page na naglalaman lang naman ng Brown Version ng kilalang-kilalang social networking site sa buong mundo ang FACEBOOK.

Ako niya'y natakot na akala ko ito ay isang SPAM o siguro link na naglalaman ng VIRUS. Syempre nagdalawang isip ako bago ko binuksan ito pero nang ito nga ay nabuksan hindi naman pala. Pero syempre naisip ko rin marahil when I signed up dito papasok ung virus BUT nagkamali ako isa naman palang safe na site ito. Gumawa ako ng another na email ko para ma-try itong bagong site na ito kong gumagana. Pagkatapos SUCCESSFUL naman akong nakapagregister dito at tila biglang bigla ako sa aking nakita talagang GAYANG-GAYA talaga ang facebook. May LIKE button, may SHARE at iba pa. Ang pagkakaiba lang BROWN ang kulay niya at BIZFRIEND ang pangalan nito.

Ayus talaga ang PINOY kahit ano kayang-kayang gawin. Pati Facebook ginawan na rin ng PHILIPPINE VERSION.

Pero kung ako tatanungin okay naman siya. Mukha lang naman talaga na nagfafacebook. Walang pagkakaiba. May kunting features na merun ang Bizfriend na wala ang Facebook.

Philippines' Mutya Datul wins Miss Supranational 2013

Miss Supranational 2013, the fifth edition of the Miss Supranational pageant was held on September 6, 2013 at Sport's Palace of Minsk, Belarus. Ekaterina Buraya, Miss Supranational 2012 from the Belarus crowned her successor, Mutya Johanna Datul, 21 years old, from the Philippines at the end of the event. She was the very first Filipina who won the MISS SUPRANATIONAL Crown. This was the first time Belarus hosted the event.
